Lace, Satin & Cotton: A Complete Fabric Care Guide
By SuitableVastra Admin1 min read

How to wash, dry, and store bras, lingerie, and sleepwear so they last — by fabric, not guesswork.
Most lingerie doesn't wear out — it gets washed out. A few small habits add months, sometimes years, to how long your favourite pieces last.
Washing
Hand wash lace, satin, and embellished pieces in cold water with a mild detergent. Everyday cotton bras and sleepwear can go in the machine on a gentle cycle, inside a lingerie bag, with hooks fastened so they don't snag other fabrics.
Drying and storage
- Air dry flat or on a flat hanger, away from direct sunlight
- Never wring — squeeze gently to remove excess water
- Store bras cup-in-cup, never folded flat, to protect the shape
- Keep lace and embellished sets in a pouch or drawer organiser to avoid snagging
One habit worth adopting: replace bras every 8-12 months of regular wear. Stretched elastic and worn padding — not a change in your size — are the most common reason a favourite bra starts feeling wrong.
